actually I think that is absolutely correct.

Yes, it would be nice to see the not ready state, but then the not ready (or formerly paperwork) state is only relevant to Queues. As far as I remember paperwork (which became Not Ready) was for example used when accepting an email from queue.

 

You have to see that Directory does not neccessarily show queue relevant information. This, including the not ready information, can be seen in online monitoring.

But the dictionary is more some kind of office feature and shows the Agent status relevant for operator direct calls (not to a queue but the agents extension.) And for those calls the agent on not ready is indeed available and free qhile he will not get queue calls allocated.

 

This is why Not ready should not be used if you are away from keyboard (or phone in this case), but more paperwork like tasks. Also if you do not answer a queue call, the system cn set you on not ready, to not try and waste waiting time for queue calls on an agent not available.

 

If someone leaves his workstation, the correct way would be, to switch to a matching absence PRS profile.
